Hi Lotte, welcome to the forum.

What Minnie is singing is most of the first verse of an old hymn titled "How Can I Keep From Singing".

Some folks say it was written by Robert Lowry in 1860, while others believe it is actually much older. Some believe the song was written by the Quakers, others say the Shakers. Who knows for sure? But it was first popularized by Pete Seeger, a folk musician from the 1960s, and has been redone by many since then, including Enya.

I'm not sure how authentic it might be for a Traveller family to sing it at a funeral, as I don't really know anything about their death customs. But I assume the writers did some research and figured that would be the appropriate thing to do.

One thing's for sure: Minnie has quite a nice singing voice. It was a good rendition.
