Good news everyone! FX announced today that the show will be back for a second season next year (probably airing the first half of 2008) with 13 new episodes.

Seems like Izzard will be right after all.
I am glad to see that the show doesn't get canned.

Me too. That means Izzard will be staying in L.A. for a while, so he might do some more standup here. My wife and I always love catching his impromptu shows, where he tests out new material before taking it on the road.
And the show does definitely deserve a second season, if not just to further round out the richness of the characters and storylines.
I haven't been able to find out how the show charts just yet. FX doesn't participate in the big prime-time ratings race. But I assume it's done well enough for FX, or else they wouldn't have greenlighted a second season.

If you hear anything, it would be great if you could post it in the forum for us. I know I wouldn't mind coming down to L.A. to catch Eddie live.

| I LOVE the show and have seen every episode, having TIVOed it. I watched the show last night and, not having ever been to the website, had no idea whether or not there would be another season. Remember "Dr. Strangelove" and the Doomsday Machine?--In order to make the threat work, you had to let everyone know you had it! Well, I can't imagine that the show ended without a renewal announcement. In order to make the show work, everyone must know it's not been cancelled! I'm sure that there are many others like me who don't usually go to a show's website. THEY MUST BE TOLD, ON TV, PREFERABLY AT THE END OF THE SEASON, that they can look forward to seeing it again next season. Please, my husband and I adore Eddie and "The Riches" and want it to be enjoyed by an ever growing audience.

My thoughts exactly. I was actually waiting for the Ad block to end because I was fully expecting it (I had read the news).
It's funny, considering that it is one of the few original shows that didn't get cancelled.

I notice the link you posted isn't working. Does this mean that the status of the show is in doubt? or, worse  , that it isn't in doubt -- it's cancelled?

No need to worry, SRCitizen, last thing I heard the show is still coming back for a second season!!
