It has also been announced together with a bunch of other stuff on the front page article:
Gearing Up For Season Two
I bet it goes at least to $120k. Any takers?

Well, the winning bid came in at $92, 607.13. I'm not quite sure what to think of this number.

I don't get it. That person spent $92k for $100k and a bunch of stuff?
Or in other words, he gets paid $8k to go out with Minnie Driver and take some promo stuff off their hands.
Somehow I am kicking my beloved a$$ right now for not bidding on this auction.

Holy Crap,I wouldve loved an hour with Minnie, if only I had 92k in the first place. I can't beleive it was below the award's amount, or at least that noone just started there to be an {unfriendly word}. I'm also surprised there were only 81 bids.
Anyway, don't you think it's strange that they would include money as part of a bid? It kind of defeats the point of a cash prize if you have to pay for it.

Well, it just proves that the greenback is pretty much worthless. $92k today is better then $100k + Minnie tomorrow. Maybe FX should have offered some Euros to get people excited. Pounds wouldn't have been bad either.
Wonder if they pay in installments

Exactly! I thought I was the only one who thought this whole $100K idea was odd. And I am surprised that the winning bid was below that. They could have just donated the $100K to Oxfam directly. I guess, they were hoping for more, too.

$100,000.00
- 92,607.13
$ 7,392.87
I wonder if income tax on 100K is around this much?
After the FX promo and a date with a great actress (who is in a family way),
Oxfam America is still getting a whole 100K.
That's the important point.
Cael prolly figured out the best tax break to bid on this deal. . .

Actually, Oxfam is getting the proceeds from the auction, so the $92K. The winning bidder is getting the $100K.

| I don't get it, they're basically just making the winner feel like they are spending a lot of money for charity or whatever, but they arent really donating crap to the charity, they are just gaining 8K. The question just keeps going through my head, why not just donate 100K to Oxfam in the first place?

I think it was a marketing plot that went south. Maybe they were trying to attract a certain crowd and keeping out another one (you had to have the money and could not apply the $100k towards paying the auction).
I just don't know, but I wish I had bid on that auction.
BTW, if the gain is $8k thats what you pay taxes on. Not the $100k and not the $92k.
