This is sort of a take on the funeral from The Riches, but do any of you care to list any of your superstitions, or even through phobias in the mix.
From my family- we could not say -Oh My God- using the lords name in vain etc...We are not holy rollers, but I never said it in front of my parents -respect.
This is crazy- The toilet paper roll has to be rolled over not under, and let me tell you it is a {unfriendly word} when I go to public bath rooms. I have to check it out first- well- I am sure that is too much info.
I HATE clowns- scared of them. Black widows,as well.
It is bad luck to kill a cricket, if one is in my house- I carefully relocate him/her.

| I try to walk under ladders when ever possible. I try not to succumb to superstitions but I'm sure I react to some of them in some subtle way. The ladder thing I think is more me try to convince myself how progressive I am, than anything else.

Huh.
Yeah I am a bit superstitious but I don't take it too serious. It's more that I ask myself in hindsight "had I not done this, would this have happened".
I am not consciously trying to avoid certain things. I don't see any correlation and I think that most superstitions are from the middle ages when people didn't understand cause and effect.
On the other hand, I don't mind traditions. If its a tradition to cover the mirrors, pictures and stop the clocks, why not. I would call it more of a tradition then a superstition.

Well I guess I am just crazy or rather a work in progress! I was just trying to think of some conversation. I like what you said Steve- it makes sense- whereas I do not!

Yeah, I am superstitious, more than I like to sometimes. And it's not only traditional ones, I even make up my own. Like if I do "A", then "B" will happen, or if I do "A", then "B" will not happen.
Weird, I know, but I can't help it.

| I guess I have to add myself to the "yes" list too. My grandmother passed some small superstitions down that she learned in the old country (Norway), combined with some of my grandfather's (from Scotland). It's been so long that I hardly remember them to name them, but if I think about it, sometimes I catch myself doing little rituals that just don't make a whole lot of sense. But no harm, no foul, I figure.
