Very good point. I totally agree with you. And it is innocence in more than one way, too.
He is meant to be the innocent one of the whole bunch. But using a child as a cross-dresser is also a very clever way to address that particular point. In many ways, it's easier to inject into the story.
I think Sam is a great character and Aidan does a wonderful job. Too bad we haven't seen much of him lately.

Well I don't know about that. Actually I think he is the most secretive of the whole bunch. Somehow I cannot help it but he gives me the creeps. The way he looks in most scenes reminds me of all these horror movies I have seen (maybe I just watched to many of them, don't know).
A hyper intelligent child that doesn't say much but eyeballs everyone all knowing must have something in his mind that is pure evil

Yeah, that's definitely something they want to imply, giving his appearance. At times he almost looks "angelic", if that makes any sense.
Yet, as many other things in the show, I think it's just a clever "cover". I am not saying he is evil or anything , but I do get the feeling that there is much more to him than we are let to believe and he definitely has his own tricks up his sleeve. And at the same time, he does seem very innocent/pure in certain aspects. Will be interesting to see this character develop.
And I agree, Aidan definitely is talented.

I really hope there is more Sam in future episodes. The only episode we have really seen him in is Operation Education. Theres been even less of him in the last few episodes. I miss him

Me too, Matty, me too.
It seems as if all the other characters are being developed and Sam is left behind. Too bad, and it doesn't look like next week's episode will feature him more.

Thats true. He hasn't gotten the attention he deserves and I wonder why. Even Cael wasn't seen much in the last episodes. I just hope that they will be more involved in the future, otherwise it might become a little single sided.
I would love to see an Episode about trouble at school and about Sam's problems to stick with a single identity (that of a boy)

Exactly! I mean, I understand that they focus on Wayne and Dahlia, and there were actually some episodes where Dahlia was mainly there to move Wayne's plot forward. And I actually liked the "wedding threat" theme that involved Di Di, but it really didn't leave much for Sam or Cael.

That sounds like a good episode to me. I really, really liked what we got to see of Sam in Operation Education and I would like another episode that focuses more on him. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

It would still have to be a side story to something alot more about Wayne and Dahlia, but yeah, a school life ep would be fun.
By the way, I've noticed he went from dressing in pink shoes and girly t-shirts to stuff more like low-cut tops and skirts and make-up even. Possibly easing the more closed minded audience into the whole idea?

Yup, it probably would be a side story. But still, we really haven't seen much of Sam in school. I think it would be fun to watch this little genius in action. Just saying...

Yeah, I guess that makes sense. I didn't even notice that change until you mentioned it. So perhaps for others, who do have more of a problem with this idea, it is easier to accept now that they've got to known Sam a little bit.
Again, I think the idea to have a child cross-dress was brilliant.

I would really like to see the writers explore his character more. He seems to be so innocent and all, but you can see in his eyes that he's into the Traveller thing (and now the buffer thing). And he is the "secret squirrel" after all. But there's a lot more depth they could go into with Sam. He's much wiser than his few years.
Gee, I wonder if Eddie is at all jealous of the wardrobe and makeup that Aidan gets to wear on the show?

Couldn't agree more with you, thor. I found Sam to be an interesting character since the beginning and I really liked what they showed us in Operation Education.
You're right, he does look very innocent, but every so often you can catch a glimpse of another side of him. He always speaks with such a soft voice, yet I think he knows exactly what he wants and how to get it.

LOL, I just watched an interview with Eddie not that long ago and he mentioned that he was made/made himself the "technical adviser" for the role of Sam. I am guessing that includes demeanor, dialog, makeup, and clothes, etc. So at least he gets to live it 'vicariously' in a way.

"I won't let them take you away Grandma, if they do I'll hotwire a car and come get you"
Great example.

I think it was very sweet of him to take care of the old lady the way he did. I am somewhat surprised how fast he got acquainted with her though. That seemed somewhat unnatural.
At least he got to show off his makeup skills with the old lady.
