I never knew who Minnie was until The Riches (well, I'd heard of her, but never bothered about her) I heard some of her music, and think it is great. Ruby Adeline is one of my favorite songs right now.

Maybe I am the only one, but I have absolutely no taste for her music. I agree that she has a good voice, but put some drums a base and a lead guitar in the mix and let her rock out a little harder and we have an excellent band Laughing

That would be interesting, even though I like her folk music. But anyway, you couldnt make Ozzy Osbourne do country, or make Eminem sing the blues, I have a feeling that you can't make Minnie Driver do hard rock. Razz

Well, I am a fan of crossover style music.
One of my all time favorites used to be the first album of Theatre of Tragedy (the later ones really weren't good). But the thing they did really well is mix a female opera style voice, thick and heavy guitars and a very dark male voice together. It was one of the most inspirational masterpieces of music. From then on their style became worse and worse.
Another interesting mix is Nightwish (female Opera voice + heavy metal band = takes some getting used to).

Those two bands don't make the female singer sing any different, but they accentuate excellent female voice with heavy instrument play in a way that makes em different from todays pabulum.

Now imagine how good Eminem would sound with some rockin' guitars. He wouldn't even have to change his singing style Cool
His style would go excellent with rhythmically hammering metal beats.

Steve: Interesting ideas; I actually think that it would work well with her voice. Cool

In any case, I just checked her webpage(s) again and saw that her new album "Seastories" will be out on July 17th (not July 10th as previously reported). I for one am planning on getting it when it comes out.

Minnie also posted upcoming tour dates on her myspace page.
Looks like the tour will start on the West Coast. She'll be in L.A. on July 17th for the release of her album and then have shows in California, Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia during August. More details here .

I also found some more information on Minnie's new film, "Take":

According to the Hollywood Reporter, it's "a grueling, hard-to-take drama that is well worth the viewer's effort." And another critic states that "...it’s Minnie Driver who walks away with the film."

There's also an official webpage for the movie. Check it out if you're interested; it offers quite a bit of info, including a trailer, interviews, photos, and much more.

I just wonder when and where one can actually watch it.

There's a new Q&A with Minnie on TvGuide.com.
Also, in case you didn't know, Minnie has her own block on MySpace. Obviously, she doesn't have time to post every day, but every now and then she talks to her fans. Check it out here, if you are interested.

Very Happy

Just found this little piece online written by Minnie Driver: 10 Things You Don't Know About Women. I got a good laugh out of it and thought some of you might enjoy it. BTW - a lot of it is totally true.

Hi there

I've been a quiet fan of Minnie's for some time now and think that she is a very talented young lady...

My cousin has sent me the Riche$ episodes for me to watch finally Smile

I'm also a huge fan of her music and have her albums 'Everything I've Got In My Pocket' and also a promo of her new album 'Seastories' which i must say is fantastic... so much so that i decided to create a fan forum for her Smile

Once I've watched a few of these episodes, I'll pay another visit and leave my comments.

Thanks

Glenn from the UK

Hi Glenn,

And welcome. Glad to see another Minnie Driver fan has joined us. Can't wait to hear what you think of her performance in the show.

Dahling Smile

P.S. I also enjoy her music a lot.

Has anyone seen this?

I really expected to see a copyright notice on her site. Zina Saunders is 'running barefoot' in the Internet jungle.

Now, I am a fan of both Zina Saunders and Minnie Driver.

Wow. Pretty good. Somehow reminds me of the drawings they make in court.
I really like it.

Yup, it came out on the 17th. You can actually order it through Minnie's webpage.

Also have some great news: Minnie was nominated for an Emmy today!!! "Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series" for Dahlia. Keep your fingers crossed.
