Gee, I wonder if Eddie is at all jealous of the wardrobe and makeup that Aidan gets to wear on the show? |
I've actually heard that Eddie's going through a bit more of a masculine style dressing phase. If you see him in any of his recent appearances, he's not been cross-dressing lately.

I guess that's Eddie is keeping it fresh, plus probably making himself more salable to networks for The Riches and other shows in the future.

I was on a different Riches Board and someone posted something that I thought I would share here.
Dahlia and Wayne are a male/female pair that have their own conflicts, come together and separate.
Cael/DiDi form a similar male/female pair with interpersonal conflicts.
Sam is a male/female duality unto himself. (It has been said that while to decision to make Sam a cross dresser was made PRIOR to EI signing on, the decision to make Sam a fully heterosexual transvestite (an Executive Transvestite, if you will) was made after EI signed on)

| I saw that comment, too, at the IMDb board. It's an interesting observation.

Who are you on IMDB? My name is the same. being able to share thoughts between the two boards is nice, though now I will have to be sure not to present them as my own brilliant ideas

| It's becoming a lot more evident to me that Sam is the most mysterious character. It seems like we know where everyone else stands. Wayne wants to make more money, and seems really conflicted between what his morals are. Dahlia wants to make her family happy, but isnt sure whether being Rich is for better or worse, and also wants to quit her addictions for the family. Cael and Didi are the clearest with Cael being against staying in Edenfalls and hates high society, while Didi enjoys the "good life" even though she seems to hate herself for caring about what other teens think of her. SHe also says she doesnt want to steal, which is the most obvious leap away from her traveller roots. Anyway, back to the point, Sam is very ambiguous. He obviously enjoys living normally, but seems to be very sneaky, and does many things he would have done as a traveller. Its hard to tell where his morals lie, and he seems to be playing things out, waiting for the right moment to do things, and keeping his mouth shut until then (rainy day money; bloodstains). I bet he is a lot more cautious about things since they had to leave Edenfalls the first time.

Yeah, Sam is an interesting character for sure. When they chose to create a character who's not just "the baby" of the family, they hit it out of the park. He's quiet but very observant, obviously quite intelligent, and also has the artsy side which means creativity and the ability to think in unconventional ways. And we've already seen that he can be sneaky and keep a secret for a long time (digging up the money in the yard and not telling anyone).

I'm Orbert there, too. I'm Orbert pretty much anywhere I go on the net. Keeps things simple for me.

It's an interesting way of following the logic, on to Sam.
AFAICT, it's simply the easy and traditional way of making a TV show. The show starts with two pairs of characters that interact directly, and then interact together in those pairs. The tension and story between the two furthers the show. Breaking the pairs apart creates unpredictable plots for new shows. It's easiest to see in sitcoms, where there's the main pair, and the "quirky neighbors".
I think the writers were going to have to work hard to ensure that Sam would not become the fifth business, since Sam is the odd one out. I think that's why Sam remains uncommitted to anything but staying in Eden Falls and retaining the Grandma character. The grandma character seems to be a hack into the plot, to unify the pattern. There's only so many Parrots Sam can catch in a season, and Sam needs someone to talk to.
