Who is your favorite character?

Now that the first season has aired in the US, I was wondering which one of the characters is your favorite? If your favorite is not on the list, please choose other and post who you liked the most.
And let us know why!

Hands down, Hugh is the greatest. I love that SOB.

Teehee, Steve, why I am not surprised! I've got to admit, Hugh makes for a great bad guy who is actually likable at time.

But I have to cast my vote for Dahlia, best character on the show for me. Not only because of Minnie Driver's great acting, but also because she is so conflicted, so messed up, so sweet and caring, and so determined, well simply a great and interesting character.

I voted for Sam, but I would also vote for Grandma: I just find her fascinating, and I think we have so much more to learn there.

Actually, it would be easier to pick a least favorite character: that would be Dale. I wish they would tone down his psychopathic violence some.

By the way, thank you to the poster before me for putting in my favorite QUOTE of the season: Life is a river, you got to go where it takes you.
Second favorite quote would be Minnie to Izzie: that she fell in love with him and his messed up life (I don't have it quite accurate)

I too like Hugh a lot, but I cast my vote for Wayne because his con is just so outlandish and it's amazing to see the rabbits he pulls out of his hat every week to keep the con going.

I think I fell in love with Dahlia the moment she (and Di Di) let out her cornrows.

We love Dahlia she is so pretty. My hubby thinks she is sexy and I just love everything about her. I was sad to see her in her addicted state but I hope in the story they will let her fully recover. Oh did I mention that she is soooo pretty? lol

Sam, Didi, Nina, Grandma. The endearing "not quite what you expect" characters I suppose. Oh, and Wayne just because it's Izzard.

I think I'd have to go with Nina, in many ways I can identify with her, and I love how even though she's asked questions, and carefully kept her eyes open, she's never threatened them. I like how she befriended Dahlia, and how she continues to support her husband at least publicly.

huh I never left a response here? I remember taking the poll..hmm, whatever, I'll just do it now, woo! ahem

anyway, I put Sam..arent you surpised? Thought so. Anyway, I love Sam, he is very mystrious, and a lot more capable than he leads on. ie: the money he was keeping for " a rainy day", his devotion to "grandma" whom he mentioned he would hotwire a car and come get her if they took her away. But he also seems to not care about rules and things that interfere with what he wants. Like showing up as a girl to the dinner party, and when Rudy Blue was there ("Sam-mantha!")(that, or he just doesnt have a firm grasp on the idea that it is not socially accepted) to tuning out the fact that they needed to leave Eden Falls ("I can't help, Ive got homework to do")
I'm also very interested in his crossdressing, it's admittedly what drew me to him in the first place.

A close second is Dahliah, she seems to be the most selfless of the characters, with the most moral. I also like how she didn't become as jaded as the others, particularly DiDi (other than Cael of course). And she doesnt seem to give a s**t how people see her, unless it were neccesary to the con.

I did like what you wrote about Sam and Dahlia. The not giving a hoot about what others think is something I really admire in Dahlia. I wish I could do that.
